Private tutor in Colorado Springs, CO
University of Colorado Denver - BS and BA, Biology and French
As a teacher, I believe that all of my students have the ability to learn the material that I teach in the classroom. Often times, students will give up on a concept and insist that it is impossible for them to understand. My goal is to instill a confidence in my students and convince them that learning is, more often than not, about hard work rather than smarts and natural ability. In order for a student to stay motivated and continue working hard, they must develop a passion for learning and an appreciation for knowledge. This takes a great deal of enthusiasm from the teacher. In most of my previous tutoring experiences, I have found that the students who struggle the most are the ones that are limited by walls that they build to protect themselves from the fear of failure. My responsibility as their teacher is to build a strong relationship and bring down these walls so that the student has an open mind to learning new things. I currently work for a company that provides a classroom setting for elementary students to learn foreign languages such as Spanish, French, and Chinese. I have experience tutoring students in science, French, reading, and math. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado in biology and French. My hobbies are cooking, skydiving, and reading.
