Private tutor in Colorado Springs, CO
Ohio State University-Main Campus - BS, Biomedical Engineering
I recently received my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Ohio State University. I graduated cum laude and played for the Varsity Women's Soccer team. Our team was very successful, and we competed in the Final Four, the Sweet 16, and eventually even won the Big Ten Tournament. Outside of soccer, I spent a lot of time working in the lab doing research on anatomical mechanics in athletes. During my last year I worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering departments. I taught classes, graded papers, and held official office hours where I provided tutoring to students who needed additional assistance. I also tutored fellow athletes through my athletics department. I have tutored a wide range of subjects, such as French, Physics, Precalculus, Anatomy, English, Geometry, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and a number of other science and math based subjects. I have had success tutoring standardized test preparation as well, and have worked with students preparing for the SAT, ACT, and the more advanced MCAT test. My style involves the inclusion of real world examples and applications to complicated concepts in order to make the ideas more concrete in the students' minds. My own interest in sports and athletics has created a strong interest for me in orthopedics, and I hope to continue working in that area.
