Experience

I was a literacy center tutor at Naperville North High School (IL) for two years, and have since tutored on and off mainly in Spanish and English with some tutoring in all subject areas for younger kids at Hesed House (homeless shelter in Aurora, IL). I completed through AP Spanish Language and afterwards lived in Madrid for a few months to fully expand my speaking skills. As a third-year Political Science major both my knowledge in the subject area as well as my writing skills are necessarily put to a high standard. Having been a professional figure skating coach for 4+ years, a yoga teacher for 2+, and an academic tutor for 4+ I can say that there are few things more rewarding than teaching kids and adults alike and seeing them grow and learn. That being said, I think teacher and student both learn so much from the experience as all my students have shown me before.

Hobbies

I run Varsity Track and Field for Colorado College and ran my first trail marathon this year while studying abroad in Scotland. I am an Officer Candidate in the United States Marine Corps, and spend quite a bit of time training for that. I also love reading, playing piano, traveling, and cannot wait for the day I can adopt a dog!
