Experience

My expertise is in preparing you for the exams that matter most: The MCAT and DAT, the NCLEX-RN and Boards in Midwifery and Nurse-Midwifery and for the GRE, SAT , PSAT and ACT. After 18 years as a Nurse-Midwife and Professor at UT in Houston I went fully academic and earned my Ph.D. in Nursing . I traveled the nation teaching the NCLEX RN for ERI (now ATI) and taught the GRE and MCAT in each of the same locations. Finally, I rewrote NCLEX curriculum to prepare those students who wanted to guarantee their opportunity to pass this exam even in the face of high odds as well as those who wanted to also prepare themselves well for the demands of Accelerated programs and Nurse-Practitioner Certification. I am an item writer for many exams and book companies and an investigative journalist in health care. I sit on graduate program admission boards and teach at a progressive university at the graduate level. Yet still, something was missing.... So, I returned to school and spent a solid block of my life preparing for Rabbinical ordination, I still taught parttime during my rabbinical education and became a more dedicated tutor by being a student myself again. So now you get the whole of me....tutor and health care professor, Director of Health Coach Education and writer in health care ethics and economics ...but when we work together, whether 1:1 or 1000:1 my whole focus os on one thing....you and your career via you and this one exam. For over a decade I have provided academic coaching for nursing students, medical students and those in EMS as well as graduate and undergraduate students in all of the health professions. I also tutor students preparing for the major exams including the NCLEX, HESI, PACER, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, SAT and ACT and it is my honor to serve as a tutore for internationally trained physicians for the USMLE . Finally, I tutor many medical students as well as P>A> and nursing students from the ADN-RN level through the Ph.D. My specialty is in health care career coaching and in working with individuals of all ages challenged by ADHD or a simple lack of organizational skill, concentration and motivation. Comprehensive academic coaching is available by webinar, phone or, in person, at my home office in the North of Colorado Springs or on campus at Colorado College. I currently serve as a professor of Health Care Ethics and Economics, nursing, legal nurse consulting and health coaching and having earned Rabbinical Ordination in January 2017 I am combining my role as a rabbi with my academic career. As a medical issues writer I've published articles in both professional journals of nursing, midwifery and coaching and in the popular periodicals including Live Strong, MORE, Real Simple and Parents. I am the author of MASTER Goals and LAUNCH...60 things to do before you ask us to call you an adult; and the coauthor of teshua...to rise again, 6 Seasons of Change and Verbal and Math Mastery for the Major Exams. On the lighter side, I authored the Oscar of the Compost Pile series with illustrator Cheryl La Fon and am completing another series now; The Bubbe Rabbi Mysteries...with my granddaughters Aalyia and Kiara. I sew for them and for the other 4 grandkids too...they just keep outgrowing things before they are finished, and share life with my beloved Jean and our rambunctious fluff ball with teeth, Kabbalah. That's me.....it's now you turn. Tell me what you want this exam to do for you....what grade you need to make. And then get ready to learn in a whole new way and prepare yourself to walk into that MCAT, NCLEX, GRE or SAT/PSAT/ACT...etc and say "This was a little quiz...just a quiz!" When that's the way you feel....I've done my job. Shalom!

Hobbies

As a rabinnical student so much of my 'spare" time was devoted to finishing that work each week that I have forgotten what leisure feels like! However, I sew quite extensively and garden when it's not cold. My home since 1997 has been in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs, with a view of Pikes Peak. My four children, six grand-children, loving partner, Jean ( a wonderful French engineer) and our cat-Kabala enjoy our lives here and when we are elsewhere it is to vacation in France or Akumal, Mexico. As a Jewish woman who achieved Simcha (Rabbinate Ordination) just six months ago my schedule is built on a lovely rhythm. I work from Sunday through Friday at noon and then observe Shabbat. My practice also closes for the Jewish High Holidays and for the week of Passover each year as we preserve those times for rest and renewal as a family.
