I am a National Board Certified Teacher that graduated with honors from ENMU with a B.S. in education with an emphasis in Math in 2001. I also have over 60 post grad hours in Reading, Writing, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, and Astronomy. I also obtained my Masters in educational leadership and administration in 2019. My combined GPA for all of the classes is a 3.92.
Experience
Recently, I won a Crystal Apple teacher of the year for a local school district. I have been nominated for the presidential math and science award 8 times in my career. I was also a finalist for a mayor's award for Colorado Springs in the area of young leader in education. I won an award from Colorado Biz magazine for one of the top young leaders in Colorado. I obtained my National Board Certification and was named one of Colorado Springs best teachers in 2012. I was named as the 2011 Outstanding Mathematics Teacher for the Pikes Peak Region, and in 2010 Raytheon named me as one of the top math teachers in the nation. I was awarded one of the 32 "Math Hero" Awards. I have also been nominated for various other local, state and national awards. I have been tutoring for over 25 years, and I have been directing tutoring programs here in Colorado Springs for the last 20 years. While in college, I earned a Master Tutor Certificate from the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) while recording the most tutoring hours of any known tutor at my university to date.
